Unfortunately, the period from 2020 to 2022, the period of the global COVID-19 pandemic, was a time when many next-generation talented K-pop groups appeared. During this period, groups that stood out and were loved by fandoms around the world were especially female groups. SM Entertainment's 'aespa', which introduced the metaverse worldview storytelling called 'Wilderness' and the 'Hyper POP' genre, which twisted the grammar of existing pop music, into the album, marked the beginning of the next generation of K-POP.
It was an informed group. aespa, which debuted in November 2020, was evaluated as “unique” by conveying a different feeling from typical SM style groups by putting the “difficulty” of the metaverse worldview as one concept. In addition, with each member's overwhelming visuals and corresponding singing and performance skills, aespa almost monopolized the popularity of the K-POP industry in 2021 with popular songs such as ‘Next Level’ and ‘Savage’.
But here we are now MYs! We've come a long way...
Now we're celebrating aespa's events from left to right!
Let's go! 🔥
HYPER LINE Event Details:
On December 1, 2022, it was announced via the group's official Japanese website that they will hold their first-ever Japanese tour, tentatively titled "Aespa Live Tour 2023 in Japan", from March 13 through April 30, 2023.
January 20, 2023, a concert poster was shared through the group's social media accounts, revealing the tour's name and Korean dates, and venue. It was also announced that the second show (February 26) will be live-streamed via Beyond LIVE with re-streaming on March 25. D' Day!
In particular, this concert is aespa's first solo concert since its debut, and the audience is expected to respond enthusiastically as you can meet the mega-hits released so far such as "Black Mamba", "Next Level", and "Savage" at once. In addition, Espa also teased a rich setlist, including previously unreleased new songs such as "Salty & Sweet" and "Thirsty" through a YouTube choreography practice video and an Instagram Live broadcast, which has not been shown before, to amplify the anticipation.

Aespa performed a bevy of unreleased songs and solo numbers as part of a 25-track set list at their “SYNK: Hyper Line” concerts over the weekend.
On Feb. 25 and 26, the SM Entertainment quartet held their first-ever standalone concerts at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul. At the concerts, Aespa debuted 11 unreleased songs, including solos for each of the members, Karina, Winter, Ningning and Giselle.
One unreleased song, “Salty & Sweet,” received a dance practice preview video on Aespa’s YouTube channel. Other never-before-heard songs included “Thirsty,” “YOLO” “Don’t Blink,” “Hot Air Balloon” “I’m Unhappy” and “Till We Meet Again.”
Of the new solos performed during the concerts, Karina had the solo “Menagerie,” Ningning performed “Wake Up,” Giselle had “2HOT4U” and Winter had the ballad “Lips.”

The Setlist:
“I’m so looking forward to the concert. I've been a fan of aespa since their debut and I always wanted to see them,” a 20-year-old Chinese student studying in Korea surnamed Chen said.
Many concertgoers waited at the venue hours before the concert, some to take commemorative photos, some to queue in line to buy official merchandise, and some, like Chen, to trade merchandise with other fans at the venue.
“I came to aespa’s concert because it took place perfectly with my [already planned] trip to Korea," said a fan from the Philippines, expressing their excitement to see a K-pop artist for the first time.
The girl group kicked off the concert at 5 p.m. with its most recent hit, “Girls” (2022), accompanied by a surprise electric guitar performance by lead vocalist Winter and followed by three songs from the group’s first EP, “Savage” (2021).
Throughout the two-and-a-half-hour concert, aespa performed a total of 25 tracks. The 11 new songs served as a pleasant surprise for the girl group's fans who had been patiently waiting for any sort of new release.
