What happens at Governors Ball?
The festival's 3-day lineup is jam-packed with the world's biggest artists and musicians every year. The Governors Ball is the perfect playground. Festival goers can dance under the New York sky, feast on the city's finest cuisines, and immerse themselves in larger-than-life art installations.

Among the other 60+ acts slated to perform from June 9 through June 11 for the 12th edition of the festival are: Lil Uzi Vert, Haim, Diplo, Omar Apollo, Kim Petras, Joey Bada$$, 070 Shake, Lil Baby, aespa, Rina Sawayama, Lauv, Oliver Tree, Finneas, Kenny Beats, Lil Nas X, Giveon, Sofi Tukker, Pusha T, girl in red, Central Cee, Tems and PinkPanthress, among others.

3. aespa to premiere first VR concert in Kwangya at SXSW
The girl group and their æ-counterparts will star in the 20-minute VR experience.
According to the South by Southwest SXSW Official Schedule, aespa VR Concert at KWANGYA will be screened on March 12th, March 13th, and March 14th from 11AM to 6PM

K-pop girl group aespa are set to premiere their first virtual-reality (VR) concert at this year’s South By Southwest (SXSW) festival.
On January 13, VR concert production and distribution company AmazeVR announced that the girl group’s ‘aespa VR Concert at Kwangya’ was chosen for the SXSW festival taking place in Austin, Texas this March.
Per the programme’s description on the SXSW website, the 20-minute concert is the quartet’s first VR concert and will be set in Kwangya, an infinite, lawless virtual space that features in the K-pop agency’s and in particular aespa’s lore.
-“We’re so excited to exclusively premiere a glimpse of our first VR Concert at Kwangya at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas,” Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning said in a video teaser, which premieres today. “We prepared a special VR Concert that can’t be found anywhere else in the world and it is a unique way to meet face to-face with our MYs. We can’t wait to share the full release with everyone soon. See you soon at Kwangya!”

4. aespa’s fictional AI system Naevis to debut as an “artist” in the 1stQ of 2024
Naevis was first introduced as an AI system that, in aespa's lore, connects the girl group to their virtual counterparts
Nævis, the artificial intelligence system from aespa’s lore, will be debuting as an “AI artist” at the group’s upcoming virtual reality (VR) concert.
Now, it seems that Nævis will make her own musical debut during aespa’s VR concert at this year’s South By Southwest (SXSW) festival, a 20-minute experience set in Kwangya, an infinite, lawless virtual space that features in SM Entertainment’s and in particular aespa’s lore.

5. PAPER Announces aespa Digital Fashion Series With DMAT and Warner
PAPER is teaming up with aespa to bring fashion into the metaverse.
K-pop girl group aespa went viral in 2020 with their debut video “Black Mamba,” topping charts and rocketing the crew into stardom. Last year saw aespa crash the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 with their Girls record, and now they’re ready to take over a new dimension.
Created with The Dematerialised, SM Entertainment and Warner Music Group, the partnership is a cyberpunk celebration of music, media and blockchain technology, and marks PAPER’s official entrance into the web3 space.
This accompanying digital capsule collection will come to life on the group's iconic æspas in a techno-glittering digital editorial series, debuting on PAPER in the coming weeks. Cyber-chic items will be available for purchase, including unique æ-pets, fashion accessories and epic full looks.
“Fashion is such a core part of our identity and we’re so excited to be working with PAPER and The Dematerialised on designing a digital capsule collection,” says aespa.

Step into aespa’s world and you’ll find yourself in a dimension beyond reality. Here in this pixelated wilderness, extraterrestrial flowers bloom in darkness and danger serpentines through the bush. There are no rules, no limits — just stars that plaster celestial mosaics in aubergine skies, illuminating the breadth of digital expanse.
This is Kwangya, an intermediary metaverse at the center of aespa’s story. While it’s not unusual for K-pop acts to spawn entire universes and convoluted narratives, aespa’s concept is as real as it is fantastical. As AI chatbots continue to incite intrigue and anxiety in the public consciousness, and with people spending more time on their phones than ever in an endless loop of scrolling and liking, Kwangya begins to look less like an imaginary realm and more like an allegory for the virtual vastness of the internet. Online, anything is possible; it’s a place where you can exist outside of the confines of the real world, for better or worse.
This is what makes aespa so singular, leader KARINA tells PAPER. They exist as both real-life idols and cyber-punk heroines with digital avatars algorithmically created from their data. For the purpose of this call, I’m talking to KARINA, GISELLE, WINTER and NINGNING, international pop phenoms and million-sellers; somewhere across time and space, their virtual personae — æ-KARINA, æ-WINTER, æ-GISELLE and æ-NINGNING — are wandering Kwangya. KARINA describes their æ members (pronounced like "eye") as their best friends, culled from their online identities and personal data. "They’re not our identical copies," she explains over Zoom, via an interpreter. "But they’re very similar to us."

13. aespa To Set New Record For Fastest Foreign Artist In History To Hold Concert At Tokyo Dome
aespa will be making history at the Tokyo Dome this summer!
On August 5 and 6, aespa will be holding two nights of concerts at the famous Tokyo Dome in Japan, which has a capacity of approximately 55,000.
Although the group is currently already in the midst of their sold-out first Japanese tour “SYNK : HYPER LINE,” they will be returning to Tokyo by popular demand for an even larger-scale concert—entitled “‘SYNK : HYPER LINE’ in Japan -Special Edition-“—in August.

14. aespa Confirms May Comeback Date
aespa is gearing up for their return!
On April 14, SM Entertainment confirmed, “aespa will make a comeback on May 8.”
The agency added, “More details on the release as well as promotion schedules will be released soon.
We ask for your anticipation and please give it lots of interest.”
This upcoming album will be aespa’s first comeback in about 10 months after their second mini album “Girls” released in July last year.

[Sports News = Kang Hyo-jin] Global K-pop group Espa will officially attend the 76th Cannes International Film Festival. It is the first for a K-pop group.
According to a report by Sports News on the 27th, Espa will attend the 5th Cannes International Film Festival in May. He is a Global Ambassador for Chopard, which has been an official partner of the Cannes International Film Festival for 76 years since 1997.
The agency, SM Entertainment, told Sports News, "It is right that Espa is going to the Cannes International Film Festival as a Chopard Global Ambassador."
Chopard President Caroline Scheufele also expressed excitement about the news in an interview, saying, "They will be the first Korean ambassadors to come to Cannes."

28. aespa to sing 'Zoom Zoom' JP OST for Beyblade Anime TV
The opening theme of the anime "BEYBLADE X" (every Friday after 6:25), which will start broadcasting on TV Tokyo from October 6, is the four-member band ONE OK ROCK, and the ending theme is the Korean four-member girls. It has been decided that the group aespa will be in charge.
